印版（printing forme），其表面处理成一部分可转移印刷油墨，另一部分不转移印刷油墨的印刷版。国家标准的解释为：“为复制图文，用于把呈色剂/色料（如油墨）转移至承印物上的模拟图像载体。”将原稿上的图文信息制作在印版上，印版上便有图文部分（image area）和非图文部分（non-image area），印版上的图文部分是着墨的部分，所以又叫做印刷部分（printing area），非图文部分在印刷过程中不吸附油墨，所以又叫空白部分（non-printing area）。
