玉 握

Jade grip

在古代，人们十分重视和推崇玉器，他们将玉器看作是身份、权位以及财富的一种象征。人们生前佩戴玉器，在逝世后会将玉器带入坟墓作为陪葬品。

玉握为死者手中握着的器物，玉葬器之一。古人认为人活的时候辛苦了一辈子，死后也不能空手而去，要握着财富和权力，必须有一种能代表财富的器物握于手中，如同死者带走了财富，在另一个世界不用过贫穷的日子。在新石器时期是以兽牙握在手中；到了商周时期，死者手中大多握数枚贝币，因为那时的古人认为贝是财富的象征；而到了汉代，握玉猪较多，因为猪是财富的象征，是供祭祀用的主要牲畜，让死者握着玉猪离开这个世界，祈祷他在另一个世界活得富足，因此玉猪成为汉代最流行的玉握。

In ancient times, people attached great importance to and highly valued jade articles. They regarded jade articles as a symbol of status, power and wealth. People wear jade when they are alive and take it to the grave when they die.

Jade is one of the burial objects held in the hands of the deceased. The ancients believed that people had worked hard all their life and could not go away empty-handed after death. In order to hold wealth and power, there must be an object that can represent wealth in one's hand, just as the dead took away wealth and did not have to live in poverty in another world. In the neolithic period, it was held in the hand with a beast's tooth. During the shang and zhou dynasties, most of the dead people held several pieces of shellfish COINS, because the ancients thought shellfish was a symbol of wealth. In the han dynasty, there were many jade pigs in the hands, because the pig was a symbol of wealth and was the main animal for sacrifice. The deceased was allowed to leave this world holding the jade pig and praying that he could live a rich life in another world. Therefore, the jade pig became the most popular jade grip in the han dynasty.

青玉，柱状，头部略细。其身以大坡刀阴线进行切割，界出四肢轮廓，刀法极其简练，略事夸张，造型憨态可掬。汉代玉器中有很多这种样式的玉猪，多成双，随葬于逝者手中，称为玉握。

In the han dynasty, there were many jade pigs of this style, many of which were buried in pairs in the hands of the deceased.
