此组袁大头三年苏维埃版带英文签字直径3.9cm，重26.9g，正面为袁大头五分戎装像，右侧刻着‘苏维埃’三字斧记，上缘“中华民国三年”，“民”带一点；背面两条嘉禾，左右交互，下系结带，中铸“壹圆”二字。钱币上文字、图案、花纹，色泽光鲜自然，纹饰深浅适度，边缘线条粗细均匀，间距也疏密一致。人像、发丝、胡须、穗芒等细微之处清晰有度，很生动。此枚袁大头三年苏维埃带英文签字版极为罕见稀有，值得藏家珍藏之。
此组藏品为民国三年苏维埃版带英文签字版袁大头壹圆。因其首铸于民国三年，又有称“民三”者，此类别称由来已久。作为民国军阀银币的领头羊，“大头”系列对钱币收藏爱好者来说，并不陌生。民国“袁大头”银元的诞生，也是银元发展的必然结果。在辛亥革命后，袁世凯为了解决军费和提高个人政治地位而发行的银元货币，因这些银元铸有他的侧身图像而得名。袁世凯头像银币是中华民国财政部于民国三年(1914年)二月颁布《国币条例》统一货币制度后，北洋军阀政府正式铸造的，因币上铸有袁世凯侧身头像，故民间俗称“袁大头”，由于其银两分量足、信誉好，成为民国时期乃至往后更长时间中国各地大量使用的通行货币。
