此藏品为广东省造光绪元宝库平七钱二分，银币钱面珠圈中镌满汉文“光绪元宝”四字，上下环汉字“广东省造”，下镌币值“库平七钱二分”，左右各饰一四瓣小花;钱币背面中心为蟠龙图案，上环英文“KWANG-TUNGPROVINCE(广东省造)”字样，下环英文“7MACEAND2CANDAREENS(七钱二分)”字样。此币品相精致，其审美风格独持，钱币正面鲜然可见满汉文化的融合，而钱背却明确标示了西方文化的介入，钱币虽小，也可管窥社会文化一斑。其包浆入骨,熟旧自然，深打字口清楚，流通痕迹明显，边齿过关，龙鳞清晰，它有着历史熏陶，极具历史纪念意义和收藏价值。

1889年广东省造光绪元宝七三番版银币系清朝广东省第一套公开发行的官铸机制银币。因该版银币将广东省的英文 “KWANG TUNG PROVINCE”和币值库平七钱三分的英文“7 MACE AND 3 CANDAREENS”反列於银币的正面大清年号“光绪元宝”之外，而将汉字“广东省造”及汉字币值“库平七钱三分”反列於银币背面的龙图外，因而被泉界称为广东“七三反版”，亦称为“七三番版”银币。光绪十三年两广总督张之洞在广东创办用机器铸币的广东钱局，厂址设在广卅大东门外南华壙，通过香港滙丰银行订购英国伯明罕喜敦造币厂的全体造币机器製作。而其汉文文字为据说为清代著名书法家吴大澄所书，楷书书体，书意颇见骨力，端庄而书意个性十分鲜明。此枚“七钱三分”银币，正面珠圈内铸有满汉文“光绪元宝”四字，珠圈外上环英文“广东省”，下环汉文“七钱三分”，两侧为四瓣小花。背面正中为蟠龙图案，上下分环“广东省造”、“库平七钱三分”十个汉字。“七钱番版”银元进入市面流通后，因为比当时市面流通的外国银元重量多一分而多被人收藏或熔毁，反而市面罕见，具有不可估量的机制币收藏与货币史料价值，弥足珍贵！
